Finalists will be interviewed either in person or by telephone.
Winter session begins on the first Sunday in February and the Summer session begins on the first Sunday in June.

NOSW WOMEN FOR WOMEN & SESSION REUNIONS
The NOSW hosts annual Fall and Summer Reunions, during which we also host our Women for Women Awards Luncheon.
NOSW Annual Awards:
The NOSW proudly presents annual awards during each Reunion. Graduate achievements and acts of service are recognized based on the criteria of each award. Refer to the award details for the application or nomination process and submissions.
Evan Frankel Award
Proceeds of the Frankel endowment fund the award recognizing the pursuit of higher education.
NOSW Graduate Women for Achievement Award
A NOSW graduate is recognized for her service to women and community.
Non-NOSW Graduate Women for Achievement Award
A woman is recognized for her service to women and community.
Janie M. Polk Scholarship Award ($1000)
The scholarship, funded by the children and friends of Janie Polk, may be used for institutional based expenses or for expenditures related to the pursuit of education. The application is available online or upon request to the NOSW Office. An essay stating need and purpose should accompany the application when mailed. A committee will review the applications for clear intent and dedication toward obtaining an education. A recipient list appears on the award plaque displayed in the NOSW office.
John B Stephenson Loyalty Award
To honor a graduate(s) who has given of their time and efforts to further the mission of the NOSW. The recipient will receive the book, John B. Stephenson, Appalachian Humanist, a certificate, a monetary gift, and recognition on the award plaque displayed in the NOSW office.
The Joy Award
The award honors a graduate who has met health-related challenges with courage, resiliency, and perseverance. The Joy Award recognizes the grace and dignity of the recipient in the face of great adversity. The Joy Award will be presented at the NOSW Graduate Reunions each year by the family of Joy Allison.
Graduate Scholarship Fund
Scholarship funds are available for graduates pursuing higher education. See the application below:
